ORDINARY PEOPLE, EXTRAORDINARY FAITH
Study by Dr. David Jeremiah
When we study biblical history, we find that the biblical story is the story of individuals and their faith (or lack of faith) in God. Hebrews 11 is considered the Hall of Faith of the Bible, listing well-known and some lesser-known characters from the Old Testament who showed extraordinary faith in the Lord. None of the characters described in this chapter of the Bible had perfect faith, by any means. But they all shared one thing in common—a growing faith in God. And that’s all that was needed for God to use their lives to accomplish great things. In studying these men and women of faith, we learn not only about their faith in God through trials and tribulations, but we see also God’s faithfulness to them. Their faith highlights God’s faithfulness to us. We can believe in Him, knowing that He is always faithful.
